Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon defender Pedro Porro, who is believed to be Tottenham's top January transfer target.
The Blues have now entered the race to sign the 23-year-old fullback, according to the front page of Sunday's print edition of A Bola (07/01), with Chelsea also targeting a new right-back this January as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen in the position, with Porro reportedly Tottenham's main target.
Fabrizio Romano recently tweeted that the former Manchester City player is at the 'top' of Tottenham's transfer list this month, and interest from Chelsea could complicate matters further for Spurs, who have already spent heavily this month.
According to Transfermarkt, the Blues have already spent more than £50 million on players such as Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana, and Todd Boehly is showing no signs of slowing down, despite Chelsea being in a terrible run of form and in desperate need of reinforcements.

Porro, who has a release clause of £40 million, is a target for Chelsea, even though Tottenham is also interested in signing the Spanish fullback. And a transfer battle between the two London clubs over the 23-year-old could erupt in the coming days.

Tottenham Hotspur FC/Tottenham Hotspur FC/Getty Images To say Chelsea are having a bad run would be an understatement, with the Blues already out of the FA Cup after a 4-0 loss to Manchester City and languishing in midtable in the Premier League. As a result, Tottenham could now have a strong chance of signing Porro.
After all, the defender is a player who could thrive in Conte's system. And, with Tottenham making the right-back their main target for the transfer window, the north London club must make an offer to match the youngster's release clause as soon as possible.
